Business Bites – Business Tips in a Minute

Productivity

There are many ways that having your daily “to do” list written the night makes a difference in your day.  Here are just 3 of them:A Plan Quote by General Patton

1) Getting everything out of your head will help you sleep better, at night. One reason that business owners lose sleep is that they have so much on their mind and they are afraid of forgetting something. Writing it down before you go to sleep allows you to rest better knowing it is all in one place and you don’t have to worry about forgetting something.

2) Writing the plan the night before can help you  start the day knowing exactly what you want to accomplish. Often, we waste time trying to figure out what we have to do and what we should do first. When you write the plan the night before, you know where to start the next day and what requires immediate attention vs what can be put off until later in the day.

3) When you write your plan at the end of the day, you can put the day to rest, celebrate your wins and identify solutions to things that didn’t go well.

When you finish the day by listing what needs follow-up and identifying what you completed, you put the period at the end of the sentence for that day. You can recap what went well and what you would like to work on or what you will do differently the next time.  Often what can get in the way of our results are those conversations you have with yourself.  Quiet the noise by doing a daily review and letting go of any unresolved “stuff.”  You will feel lighter when you go to sleep and have more energy when you wake up.  Give a try!

When do you write your “to do” list, morning or evening? How does that improve your results?  Tell us here:
